Rationalising and reworking the melange of unsympathetic renovations, Lightwells House is now at peace within a harsh environment on a prominent public headland. Designed in response to its east–west orientation, the lightwell activates and binds the three levels via a dramatic, whimsical and pragmatic connection of existing to new.
